BE CONSISTENT ON LABELING
MAY I SUGGEST that this newspaper adopt a consistent and fair policy on labeling of various interest groups? In the Jan. 5 issue, foes and advocates of gun control were properly referred to as for and against gun control. But in an article on abortion, the two sides were labeled anti-abortion and pro-choice.
Can you detect the bias there? Why not simply refer to the two camps as pro-abortion and anti-abortion? PATRICIA FERRIS TROUTVILLE
Editor's note: The newspaper's policy is to identify the two sides as anti-abortion or for abortion rights. This policy was followed in the story except in one instance.
