`Midsummer's Night' in midwinter

New York's Acting Company is bringing its production of William Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream" to Roanoke College's Olin Theater.

The performance replaces the Acting Company's scheduled "The Three Sisters" on Thursday at 8 p.m.

The Acting Company's production will feature a multicultural ensemble of 17 actors and a musical score played by the performers.

Tickets are $12 and $10 for senior citizens.

\ Women's Center offers classes, seminars

Hollins College's Women's Center is offering 12 non-credit classes and six Saturday seminars for women. Registration deadline is Jan. 28, and most classes begin the week of Feb. 3.

Classes offered include creative writing, fiction by women, a life planning seminar, vegetarian cooking and T'ai Chi.

Saturday Seminars meet for one session. Topics include: "Goddesses in Every Woman," Feb. 8; infant and child CPR and choking, Feb. 15; "Women Transforming the Workplace," Feb. 22; "Intuition and Imagery in Decision Making," Feb. 29; "For Families and Friends of Gays," March 7; "Gods in Every Man and Woman," March 14.
