Rhonda Lou Main and Steven Anderson Helms, III, were married January 18, 1992, in the Goodwin Memorial United Methodist Church in Salem. Rev. James S. Angle performed the ceremony. The reception was held at the church. The maid of honor was Lisa Schiermeier, of Richmond. Bridesmaids were Barbara Carter, of Richmond; Cindy Brogan, of Salem; and Sharon Helms, of Woodbridge, sister of the groom. Flowergirls were Hillary Linkous, of Shawsville, and Maggie Thornton, of Winchester. The best man was Steven A. Helms, Jr., of Tierra Verde, Florida, father of the groom. Ushers were Michael Main and Kenneth Main, of Salem, brothers of the bride; and Win Lautenslager, of Alexandria. The guestbook was attended by Mrs. Connie Pullen. The bride wore a satin gown with roses accenting Juliet sleeves and a Sabrina neckline. The bodice was accented with simulated pearls and sequins. She carried a cascading bouquet of white roses and carnations. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Main, of Salem. She graduated from Glenvar High School, received a B.S. in Chemistry from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, and received a M.S. in Forensic Science from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Steven A. Helms, Jr., of Tierra Verde, Fla., and the late Elva Helms. He graduated from North Stafford High School in Stafford County and received a B.S. in Computer Science from James Madison University. He is employed by Engineering Research Associates and is president of SH3 Software Designs in Fredericksburg, Va. After the wedding trip to Florida and a Caribbean cruise, the newlyweds will live in Fredericksburg, Va.
