POTTER-ASHE

Mary Martineau Ashe and Mark Allen Potter were united in marriage January 18, 1992 at Blacksburg Christian Fellowship in Blacksburg. Church elder David Kingston officiated at the double-ring ceremony. The reception was held at the Church Fellowship Hall.

The bride was escorted by her father, Fiske M. Ashe, and was given in marriage by her parents. Suzanne E. Ashe, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Sandra J. Ashe, sister of the bride, and Audrey A. Biggs, friend of the bride and groom. Michael Glasgow served as best man. The groomsmen were James A. Potter, brother of the groom, and Nathan Biggs, friend of the bride and groom.

The bride designed her own gown in ice white satin and antique gold quilting. The wedding gown and the bridesmaids gowns, designed by the bride and her mother, were created in Hampton, Virginia by House of Originals. The bride carried a cascading bouquet of white and red roses trimmed with ivy and antique gold.

The bride, daughter of Fiske M. and Elizabeth J. Ashe of Hampton, is a graduate of Christopher Newport College and is employed by VTLS, Inc. the groom, son of Lawrence M. Potter and the late Lorraine Bolstridge Potter of Blacksburg, is a graduate of Virginia Tech and is employed by Recognition Research, Inc.

After a wedding trip to the mountains, the newlyweds will live in Blacksburg.
