PHIPPS-IRVIN

Mr. and Mrs. Walter J. Phipps of Newbern announce the engagement of their daughter, Dortha Ellen, to Douglas A. Irvin, Jr., of Dublin.

The bride elect is a 1987 graduate of Pulaski County High School and a 1991 graduate of New River Community College with a A.S. in Computer Information Systems. She is employed by Kmart of Fairlawn.

The groom elect is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas A. Irvin, Sr. He is a 1987 graduate of Pulaski County High School and a 1991 graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.A. in Liberal Arts and Sciences. He is employed as a Probation and Parole Officer by the State of Virginia in Carroll County.

A May wedding is planned.
