DOWDY, BANIE E.

Banie Elizabeth Dowdy, age 87, of Roanoke, died Wednesday. She was retired telephone operator from C & P Telephone Company. She is survived by one brother, James Paul Dowdy, El Paso, Texas; one sister, Helen D. Hancock, Salem; eight nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 24, at 2:00 p.m. at the Lotz Salem Chapel, with Pastor Don Eshelman officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Lotz Salem Chapel.
