CAVS GET GEORGIA RECEIVER
Tight end Robert Neely, rated one of the top 20 prospects in Georgia by SuperPrep magazine, has decided to join his former quarterback at Virginia.Neely played at Mays High in Atlanta, alma mater of UVa freshman quarterback Symmion Willis. As a senior, Neely had 30 receptions for 465 yards and nine touchdowns.
He visited UVa, Clemson and South Carolina, and canceled trips to Alabama and Purdue.
It also appears likely that 6-6, 235-pound Mike Kelly, an offensive tackle from Frederick, Md., will sign with UVa. Frederick coach Bob Campbell said Kelly has made an oral commitment, but will not make it official until next week.
The Cavaliers finished second on high-school All-America quarterback Scott Weaver from Beaver Falls, Pa., who committed Friday to Illinois.
