$250,000 IN MERCHANDISE AT AUCTION

Antiques, guns, coins - you name it - will be offered at an auction this weekend in Radford.

Conducted by Ken Farmer Realty & Auction Co., the auction will offer the personal property of two West Virginia lawyers as part of a divorce settlement.

Individual paintings by such artists as William Aiker Walker are valued at $6,000 to $12,000. Walnut and wicker furniture pieces are valued at $4,000 to $8,000 per item. A gun collection, including Civil War-era firearms and an 1851 musket, could bring $3,000 to $6,000 each.

Quilts, pottery, coins and an unusual collection of miners' lamps also are available.

Ken Farmer, owner of the auction company, estimates $250,000 worth of merchandise will be moved in the two-day sale. "We have had calls from all over the United States," Farmer said.

The auction will start at 10 a.m. Saturday at Farmer's auction house, 108 Harrison St. It continues Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at the Norwood Room, 1112 Norwood St.

Cash, credit cards and checks will be accepted. For more information, call 639-0939.
