BASEBALL CLUB TURNS OVER EQUIPMENT
Equipment used by the Wytheville baseball club will be turned over to the town to clear up a $4,500 debt. The club owned the money from 1989, when the town was paying the salary of the general manager of the Appalachian League farm team.
Wytheville Town Council agreed this week to accept a riding tractor, grass catcher, clothes washer, netting and lights as full payment. The equipment will be used by the Recreation Department.
