3-3-3 PAYS OFF BIG; POT SHARE CLAIMED
The Virginia Lottery had to pay out a near record of more than $3.4 million after Friday's winning Pick 3 combination of 3-3-3.
The lottery took in $823,000 in Pick 3 wagering for Friday's drawing but will have to pay out $3,407,000, officials said.
In the meantime, the final third of a $6.3 million Lotto jackpot was claimed Friday by a Lee County couple, lottery officials said.
Danny and Edith Bowen went to the Lottery Department's regional office in Abingdon to received their first check for $106,292 before taxes, or $80,781 after taxes.
The Bowens' share of the Jan. 18 jackpot totals $2.1 million. The winning combination was 6-18-20-28-33-43.
