EAGLES, COLONELS GO FOR REGION TITLE
Franklin County (17-1) and William Fleming (11-2) will be going after the Group AAA Northwestern Region duals wrestling title today at Albemarle.
The Colonels face E.C. Glass in a first-round match at noon. The Eagles, who won the Roanoke Valley District title over Fleming, meet Woodbridge in the other first-round match at noon.
The Glass-Fleming winner will battle defending champion Stonewall Jackson of Manassas in the semifinals at 2 p.m. Host Albemarle awaits the Franklin County-Woodbridge survivor in other semifinal.
The winners of the two semifinal matches qualify for next week's Group AAA duals state wrestling tournament at the home site of the Central Region champion. They will also meet in the regional championship match at 5 p.m. - Staff report
