REPUBLICAN CAUCUS PLANS PUBLIC HEARING
The Virginia Republican Caucus will hold a public hearing Tuesday on economic development and related issues at Barter Theatre, starting at 7:30 p.m.The GOP has held similar hearings around the state.
Ninth District Republican Chairman Jim Ferreira said he hopes to get a cross-section of opinion for legislators to hear, and participation need not be limited to Republicans. The GOP is sponsoring the hearings "but again that hasn't stopped Democrats from telling them what they want," he said.
The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. for people to sign up to speak. They also can register in advance by telephoning 628-9999 Monday from 1 to 5 p.m. or Tuesday from 9 to 1 p.m.
Among those scheduled to attend are House Minority Leader Vance Wilkins, R-Amherst, state Sen. William Wampler, R-Bristol, and other GOP members of the House of Delegates.
