HTS CABLE TO SHOW UVA-TECH
Home Team Sports will televise the Virginia Tech-Virginia college basketball game Wednesday night from the Roanoke Civic Center.Gametime remains 7:30 p.m., Tech athletic director Dave Braine said Sunday. All area households with HTS on their cable systems will be able to view the game whether or not it is a sellout.
HTS originally had planned to televise the game but had not notified Tech, which holds the rights to the game. Braine previously had said the game would have to be a sellout before Tech would allow HTS to televise it.
However, Braine said, HTS has agreed to televise two Hokies games next season for rights fees that have not been determined yet. Tech gets to pick the two games, Braine said.
Tech will receive $5,000 for the TV rights to the UVa game.
