BLANKENSHIP, MYRTLE M.

Myrtle Martin Blankenship, age 89, of Narrows, died Monday, February 3, 1992, in the Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek, Virginia. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born at Narrows on October 23, 1902, and was the daughter of the late William Ward and Kate Beckett Martin. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. Tolbert Blankenship. She was a member of the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the C.W.F. Group #1 of the church. She is survived by a son, Leslie Blankenship, Rocky Mount; a daughter, Dorothy M. Craig, Narrows; a brother, Earl Martin, Cashmere, W.Va.; 6 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. at the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Narrows, with the Rev. Jack E. Musick officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe's Funeral Service in Narrows Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m.
