WOODS, BERNICE C.

Bernice Chandler Woods, age 80, of Pearisburg, Va., died Saturday, February 1, 1992 in a Newport News Care Center. Mrs. Woods was born in Giles County, April 7, 1911, the daughter of the late Benjamin C. and Margaret K. Cecil Morrison. She was a retired employee of the Celanese Corporation and served as an operator in the Twisting Department. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Rich Creek, Va.; member of the B.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary Post #6000, Narrows, Va. Mrs. Woods was preceded in death by one son, Clinton T. Chandler. She is survived by one son, Benjamin N. Chandler, Hampton, Va.; one daughter, Shirley Kennett, Rock Hill, S.C.; one brother, Benjamin F. Morrison, Rich Creek, Va.; six sisters, Annie M. Candler, Rich Creek; Mary Buckland, Rich Creek, Dorothy Thornton, Narrows; Hazel Williams, Atlanta, Ga.; Geneva DeFio, Rich Creek; Pauline Fox, Amstead, W.Va.; nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. at the Broyles Funeral Chapel with the Dr. John W. Treach, Jr. officiating. Friends may call after 3:00 p.m. Tuesday. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Sunrise Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Rich Creek, Va. Mrs. Woods had several nephews that will serve as pallbearers.
