SKINNER, RICHARD S.Richard S. Skinner, of Roanoke, Virginia, died Monday night at the age of 78. Mr. Skinner and his wife, Mary Elizabeth, came to the Roanoke area several years ago to join their daughter, Alison Saville, of Salem, and her husband, Robert Saville and their children. Mr. Skinner, also a long-time resident of Los Angeles, California; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, was a retired executive of Armco Steel. He is survived by his wife; his son, Stephen Skinner, and daughter-in-law, Babbs Skinner, of Palos Verdes Estates, California; and their three children Kevin, Kimberly, and Kristin. Mr. Skinner is also survived by his daughter, Sally, and his son-in-law, David Owen of Canastota, New York as well as three grandchildren by Robert and Alison Saville, David, Katie, and Robert Stephen. The family will receive friends at the Saville home at 231 Homeplace Drive in Salem from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. tonight, February 5. A memorial service and interment for Mr. Skinner will be held in southern California later this month. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
