VEGETABLE GROWERS TO HEAR OF NEW VARIETIES
The Montgomery County Extension service is offering a program for commercial vegetable producers Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Christiansburg branch of the Montgomery-Floyd Regional library.
Charlie O'Dell, extension vegetable specialist, will discuss new vegetable varieties such as Yukon Gold potatoes. Danny Neel, regional market development manager for the Virginia Department of Agriculture will discuss plans for the year of operation at the Southwest Virginia Area Farmers Market near Hillsville. Dennis Dove will speak on heirloom vegetable seed production.
