PULASKI MAYOR TO LEAD 9TH DISTRICT DEMOCRATS
Pulaski Mayor Gary Hancock has been chosen by the 9th District Democratic Committee to be its chairman for a two-year term.
He succeeds Willard Owens of Grundy, who stepped down at a committee meeting Sunday in Abingdon.
Hancock had been the committee's secretary for eight years. He is a lawyer with the Pulaski firm of Gilmer, Sadler, Ingram, Sutherland & Hutton.
Hancock was appointed Pulaski's mayor Oct. 7, 1985, and was elected in 1986, 1988 and 1990. He has not announced whether he will run for re-election again this year.
