SANDERSON, JAMES W., SR.

James Walter Sanderson, Sr., age 84, died Tuesday in Shenandoah Valley Health Care Center. He was born January 15, 1908 in Buena Vista, the son of the late Major John and Lola Ware Sanderson. He was retired from Reeves Brothers. He is survived by his wife, Lucille Secrist Sanderson of Buena Vista; two sons, James W. Sanderson, Jr. and Jerry M. Sanderson, both of Buena Vista; one brother, John H. Sanderson of Buena Vista; one sister, Nellie Sorrells of Buena Vista; one granddaughter; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 7, from the Lomax Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Claude Floyd officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday night at Lomax Funeral Home.
