RESCUE SQUAD GROUP SUED ON FUND-RAISING

The state attorney general's office has filed suit against a group that says it raises money for rescue squads, charging the group is misrepresenting itself and its intentions.

The Virginia Volunteer Rescue Squad Assistance Association has been charged with violating the Virginia Consumer Protection Act by fraudulently representing itself through telephone and door-to-door solicitations and the sale of inflatable distress signs.
