LEAGUE'S NEW PROGRAM TO HELP AT-RISK ELDERLY
The League of Older Americans is developing a new program to help the elderly in the Fifth Planning District."Community Action to Reach the Elderly," with the help of the Northwest Neighborhood Environmental Organization, seeks to identify at-risk elderly who need home repairs, accessibility for the handicapped and for other problems to be solved to assist with their independence.
Ron Boyd, director of the league's Senior Employment Department, is coordinating the program, which needs members of the community to join a coalition to resolve the most significant problems of the elderly.
Interested individuals and organizations may call Boyd at 345-0451 or the Northwest neighborhood group at 343-5674.
