BOTETOURT HOLDS OFF NORTH CROSS
Bobby Prince scored 24 points Thursday to lead Lord Botetourt to a 68-65 boys' basketball victory over visiting North Cross.
North Cross (9-11) led 65-63 with 40 seconds to play, but Prince converted two one-and-one opportunities and Lord Botetourt (10-6), which hit 10 of 13 free throws in the fourth quarter, pulled away. Craig Layman added 21 points for the Cavaliers.
North Cross, which had four starters foul out, was led by Marcus Cardwell and Mike Bryan with 18 points apiece. \

Kelly Baetz had 14 points and North Cross held its visitors scoreless for two quarters en route to an easy victory. The Raiders (5-11) led 16-0 after the first quarter. \
