MORRIS, CLARENCE W.

Clarence William Thomas (Preacher) Morris, 81, died Friday morning in a Blacksburg hospital. Born in Bluff City, he was the son of the late Wesley and Sally Perkins Morris. He was a retired employee of the Leas and McVitty New River Tannery. He was a member of the Jesus Church of Clendennin at Narrows. Surviving are his wife, Lucille Browning Ramos Morris; three sons, William Edward (Bucky) Morris, Pearisburg; Clarence William Morris, Jr., Miami, Fla.; Emory Lee Morris, Winchester, Va.; seven daughters, Sharon Albert, Poplar Hill; Dreama Bronson, Winston-Salem, N. C.; Virginia Mills, Peterstown, W.Va.; Geraldine Davis, and Peggy Gerald, Baltimore, Md.; Charlotte Sartin, Christiansburg; and Beatrice Martin, Princeton, W. Va.; three stepsons, Glenn R. Ramos, Raymond Ramos, and David Randall Ramos, all of Narrows; four stepdaughters, Brenda Phillips, Phyllis Blankenship, Frankie Vaughn, all of Narrows; Louise Morris, Blacksburg; one brother, Garland (Cub) Morris, Ohio; three sisters, Nellie Gray, Narrows; Frances Huffman, Blacksburg; Dot Kast, Ohio; forty-one grandchildren, several great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Jesus Church of Clendennin with the Pastor, the Rev. Eddie Kendal, officiating. Burial will be in Angels Rest Memory Garden, Narrows, Va. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, Pembroke, Saturday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
