OBIT SIMPKINS, W.
SIMPKINS, WADDIE T.Waddie Thomas Simpkins, age 77 of Greenville, died Friday in a Fairlea hospital following a long illness. He was born October 22, 1914, at Snowville, Va., a son of the late Jake and Nettie Simpkins. He was a retired supervisor from the Lynchburg Foundry and a member of the Simpkins Town Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, the Rev. E. W. Simpkins; three sons, Charles of Dublin; Roger of Radford; James of Pearisburg; three daughters, Deborah at home; Wanda Long of Radford; Carolyn of Colorado; two brothers, Harless of Roanoke; Hampton of Radford; three sisters, Ruby and Reva Simpkins, both of Roanoke; and Maudie Thurmond of Hiwassee, Va.; and six grandchildren. Funeral services Sunday at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. Herman Baptist Church at Sarton. Burial in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Broyles-McGuire Funeral Home in Union.
