WVRU is airing a 12-part series on Thursdays at 9:30 p.m. called "Thinking About Drinking." The half-hour documentaries explore America's No. 1 substance abuse problem. This second segment is "Terrible Trap," a medical and psychological analysis of problem drinking.
\ LIVE: WPSK will have a remote from Pilot Homes in Christiansburg today, noon-3 p.m.
Also today, WJJJ begins racing coverage with the Busch Clash from Daytona at noon. Another race will be aired Thursday at noon.
The Virginia Tech baskeball team will be at George Mason University on Monday. It can be heard over WVVV, WKEX, WJJJ and WRIQ beginning at 7 p.m. Those stations, plus WRAD, also will carry Southern Mississippi at Tech on Thursday at 7 p.m.
In high school sports, WRAD will have Friday's Radford game, WKEX carries the Blacksburg and Christiansburg game and WBLB has Pulaski coverage, all beginning at 7:30 p.m.
Carl Ratcliffe & the Gospel Strings will perform on WFNR's "Bluegrass Talk Back" show Thursday, 8-9 p.m.

\ INTERNATIONAL: WVRU's "International Folk Music Hour" airs today, 2-3 p.m.
"Lakutshon Ilanga: Music Is a Healer" is broadcast on WVRU Tuesday at 8 p.m. featuring South African music. This fifth installment of the 13-part series is entitled "South Africa's Progressive Pop."
WUVT airs "New Music" weekdays noon-9 p.m., and an "International Fest" today, 5-9 p.m., with reggae, ska, blues, dance and more.
\ NEWS PROGRAMS: Substance abuse will be the topic of discussion on WVRU's "Talk of the Town," which is broadcast Wednesday at 8 p.m. and Friday at 1 p.m. Representatives from such groups as CADRE, BACCHUS and DARE will talk about their programs.
"Speakers Corner" airs on WVRU Monday at 1 p.m. with anchorman Roger Mudd, who this week interviews Washington Post columnist Judy Mann, who will discuss women and men in the '90s.
WJJJ has Paul Harvey twice today: 8:30 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. with quips on events and people and news and comment.
\ ROCK: WVRU's "Long Live Rock," Monday at 9 p.m., has Part Three of a Doobie Brothers special, covering 1980 to the present.
On WVVV this week: "The King Biscuit Flower Hour," Sunday at 10 p.m., has The Kinks; "Metal Shop" is Wednesday at 11 p.m.; the Eagles' "Hotel California" is featured on this week's "Album Feature" Sunday at 11 p.m.; "In the Studio," Sunday 9 p.m., has Jefferson Airplane's "Surrealistic Pillow;" and Friday's "Five at Five" has the Pixies.
\ COUNTRY: WKEX has the "Nashville Record Review" today, 1-5:30 p.m. and broadcasts country oldies today, 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m.
WFNR has "Grand Old Country" tonight, 8-10, with golden country oldies.
WPSK airs "Star Trax" Sunday at 10 p.m.; and "American Country Countdown," with the Top 40 of the week, airs Sunday at 4 p.m.
WRAD broadcasts "The Ralph Emery Show" weekdays at 10:30 a.m. This week's featured artist is Trisha Yearwood.
WRIQ has the "Top 30 Country Countdown" with Jim Casey on Sunday, 1-4 p.m.
