JAMES RIVER CAPTURES PIONEER WRESTLING TITLE

James River claimed three individual titles and captured the Pioneer District wrestling tournament championship on Saturday at Natural Bridge High School.

Tony Bocanegra (103 pounds), John Miller (130) and Jason Dempsey (140) were all winners for the Knights, who beat out second-place Parry McCluer by 45.5 points. Glenvar was third, followed by Lexington, which had four individual champs.

Covington's Robbie Royston became a four-time district champion by winning the 119-pound class. - Staff report
