WOMAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION WITH 7-ELEVEN ROBBERY

Roanoke police have arrested a Northeast Roanoke woman in connection with a robbery at a 7-Eleven store at Williamson Road and Oakland Boulevard on Saturday night.

Jenny L. Moore, 26, was arrested Sunday. She was being evaluated at Central State Hospital in Petersburg on Monday and was to be returned to Roanoke today, a deputy at the Roanoke Jail said.

The store was robbed around 9 p.m. Saturday. Police said the store's clerk reported that the robber waited for the store to empty of customers and then demanded money from the cash register.

Police had said earlier that the robber tried to hide her identity by covering her face with plastic bandages and caking her eyes with green eye shadow. The robber threatened to kill someone but did not display a weapon, police said.

Major J.L. Viar said police were given the license number of the car the robber fled in and arrested Moore at a residence in the 500 block of Hershberger Road Northwest.
