GOP CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATES' FORUM

Three challengers seeking the GOP nomination for the Ninth District congressional seat against incumbent Rick Boucher will discuss their platforms Feb. 21 at a President's Day and Awards Banquet.

The event is being staged by the College Republicans of Virginia Tech.

It will be held at the Red Lion Inn in Blacksburg beginning at 7 p.m.

Montgomery County Republican Chairman George Bell, Radford University music professor Lewis Scheckler and Radford City Councilman Gary Weddle - who is expected to announce his candidacy Thursday - will discuss why they believe they should receive their party's nomination.

Other potential candidates have been invited and Republicans from around the state should be in attendance.

The cost for the banquet is $40 per couple.
