ANIMAL INSURANCE COULD PROVIDE CARE
A JAN. 29 story was headlined: "Fund created to save race dogs." We believe any animals used to make money should have decent homes and be assured of food, care and veterinary service. Some kind of animal insurance should be paid into by owners, breeders, racers, etc., for horses, dogs, pigs, elephants, whatever. Kudos to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the Greyhound Adoption Fund.
Now, before someone accuses us animal lovers of not caring about people, I hasten to say that humans should also be assured of proper food, proper care and proper medical and dental services. (Are you listening, President Bush?)
