FLOYD COUNTY MAN ARRESTED ON COCAINE CHARGES IN N.C.
A Floyd County man faces charges of possessing cocaine and drug paraphernalia in Charlotte, N.C.Charlotte police said Kenneth Michael Kaye, 44, of Route 3, Floyd, was charged with felony possession of cocaine and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop Saturday afternoon in the southbound lanes of Interstate 77.
Officer Mickey Casey said Kaye's vehicle was stopped by an officer at 1:35 p.m. on charges of reckless driving and not displaying a tag. The officer found assorted drug paraphernalia and an undisclosed amount of cocaine in the car and $28,533 in the car's trunk, Casey said.
Kaye listed his occupation as owner of Wheel World, a used-car business in Floyd, Casey said. Kaye was also charged with reckless driving.
Charlotte Intake Center said Kaye was released Sunday on $6,000 bond. A March 2 court date is scheduled.
