RELIGION BRIEFS

MARANATHA FELLOWSHIP CHURCH, 2715 Green Ridge Road, has scheduled a marriage workshop and seminar Friday through Sunday. Marietta Walters of Callaway will lead the workshop, which begins at 7 p.m. Friday and continues with sessions Saturday and Sunday evenings at 6. Call 562-0075.

THE COLUMBIA COLLEGE CHOIR, a Missouri choral group directed by former Roanoker Ross Bernhardt, will sing Feb. 20 at 8 p.m. at the Roanoke Unitarian Universalist Church, 2015 Grandin Road S.W. About 20 students are in the choir. The program is free.

\ RACE RELATIONS SUNDAY will be observed Sunday with an exchange of pastors at Greene Memorial and St. Paul United Methodist churches. Participating are the Rev. Dr. Jerry Campbell and the Rev. Willie Butler.

\ THE REV. DR. JOHN D. COPENHAVER, a former Roanoker, has published a book, "Prayer and Social Responsibility in the Religious Thought of Douglas Steere," which examines the life of Steere, a 20th century Quaker theologian. Copenhaver is a professor at Shenandoah University at Winchester.

\ THE REV. CARL ZIGLER has become interim pastor of Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, of which he also is a member. Zigler, a former hospital chaplain, makes his retirement home in Roanoke and will serve Oak Grove until a full-time pastor is hired.

\ THE ROCKINGHAM MALE CHORUS, a Shenandoah Valley choral group directed by David MacMillan, will sing March 1 at 2:30 p.m. at Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, 2138 McVitty Road S.W. Fifty men make up the choir. The program is free, although an offering will be taken. The choir will sing at Antioch Church of the Brethren at 7 p.m.
