MONTGOMERY, GEORGE S.George Sidney Montgomery, age 69, departed this life Tuesday, February 11, 1992 at the Montgomery Regional Hospital, Blacksburg, Va. after a long illness. He was born March 5, 1922 in Bluefield, W.Va. the son of the late Luther Montgomery and Helen Freeman Montgomery. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pembroke, Va. where he served as a deacon, a choir member and a member of the trustee board. He was a retired employee of the Celenese Plant, Pearisburg, Va. He was also a member of the Sunshine Club, Pearisburg. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Pauline King Montgomery, Pembroke; one son, Jerry Edward Montgomery, Pembroke; two daughters-in-law, Chelva Jean Montgomery and Charlotte Anne Montgomery, both of Pembroke; three grandchildren; one great-grandchild; three brothers, James Montgomery, N.Y.; Harvey Hicks, Roanoke; William Montgomery, Atlanta, Ga.; one sister, Elizabeth Montgomery, Willington, N.J.; one aunt, Irene Johnson, Pembroke. Funeral service will be Sunday, February 16, 1992 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Pembroke, Va. with the Rev. Michael Bratton officiating. Burial will be at the Burchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg, Va. The family will receive friends Saturday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Pembroke, Va. Claytor-Alexander and Penn Funeral Home are in charge of the arrangements.
