SISSON-SHOEMAKER

Denise Kay Shoemaker and William Arthur Sisson were united in marriage on December 28, 1991, in First United Methodist Church in Marysville, Ohio. The Rev. Jim Hopkins officiated the ceremony. The reception followed at the Royal American Links Golf Club in Galena, Ohio.

Dawn Shoemaker of Marysville, Ohio, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. The bride's attendants were Lisa Rardin, Jill Philipp, Jackie Urbanic, Susan Szczurek and Kristy Nystrand, friends of the bride. Clark Sisson of Gaithersburg, Md., brother of the groom, served as best man. The groomsmen were Todd Sisson, cousin of the groom; Andy Harnsberger, Dick Tracey, Chris DeBusk, Jeff Shelton, Doug Austin, and Joe Gilson, friends of the groom.

Red Poinsettias banked the altar and the candelabra were trimmed with bows and sprays of greenery. The vestibule was decorated with white mum arrangements in memory of the couple's grandparents and cousin. Pew bows of hunter green and gold lined the aisle.

Music was provided by Chris Westfall on the organ and Tony Philipp on the trumpet. Vocal selections were given by Allison Whittier and Dawn Shoemaker.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white polished cotton gown fashioned with a princess style bodice and short pouf sleeves. The scoop neckline and bodice were trimmed with seed pearls and the full shirt flowed into a chapel length train. A headpiece of beads and sequins held a fingertip veil which had been her mother's wedding veil. Her jewelry was a pearl necklace that belonged to her grandmother, and matching earrings. She carried a cascade arrangement of white roses, gardenias, stephanotis, and variegated ivy accented with gold.

The bride, daughter of Richard and Anna Mae Shoemaker of Marysville, Ohio, is a graduate of Marysville High School and Miami University of Ohio in Oxford, Ohio.
