OBIT WOODYARD, R.
WOODYARD, RAY H.Ray Howard Woodyard, age 76, died Friday in a Radford hospital. He was born February 25, 1915 at Poplar Hill, Va., the son of the late Albert Sidney Woodyard and Rhoda White Woodyard. He was the Pastor of Alum Spring Holiness Church; a farmer; and had hauled coal for 34 years. Mr. Woodyard always lended a helping hand to anybody. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Marie Linkous Woodyard; five sons, Cadle Woodyard, Wayne Woodyard, Larry Woodyard, all of Dublin; Linkous Woodyard, Raven, Va.; Donnie Woodyard, Pearisburg; three daughters, Mrs. Lois Wright, Mrs. Sandra Watson, Mrs. Ethelene Sadler, all of Dublin; one sister, Mrs. Hazel W. Combs, Dublin; seven brothers, Lacy Woodyard, Portsmouth; Cecil Woodyard, Cowers Woodyard, Billie Randolph Woodyard, Carl Woodyard, Allen Woodyard, all of Dublin; 23 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday, 3:00 p.m. at Alum Spring Holiness Church with the Rev. Clenard Thornsberry and Rev. David Butcher officiating. Burial will be in the Hunter Cemetery, Alum Spring. Visitation will be Sunday at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home after 1:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m.
