BURNS, FORREST L.Forrest Lambert Burns, 62, of 452 Arbutus Ave., S. E., died Friday at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born November 23, 1929, in Alderson, W. Va., son of the late Andrew Gilmer Burns and Jean Reese Burns. He was retired from U. S. Army and was a member of Rakkasan Rangers Airborne. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Harlow Burns. He is survived by two daughters, Bobbie B. Reed of Midlothian, Va.; and Kelley B. Shell of Roanoke; three sisters, Mrs. Jean Rowe of Alderson, W. Va.; Mrs. Carroll Chelis of Midlothian, Va.; and Mrs. Phyllis Bosserman of Covington, Va.; one brother, Mr. Lewis Burns of Richmond. He is also survived by one granddaughter. A funeral service will be conducted Monday at 2:00 p.m. from the Clifton Forge Baptist Church with the Rev. William C. Mattox, Jr. officiating. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time. Interment will be in Central Advent Christian Church Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Arrangements by Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge.
