HORTON, CALVIN R.

Mr. Calvin Roosevelt Horton of Route 1, Laurel Fork, age 65, passed away Saturday, February 15 at Radford Community Hospital. He was born in Carroll County, October 15, 1926, to the late William Crockett Horton and Julia Hall Horton. He was retired from Hercules Powder Co. Mr. Horton is survived by his wife, Velma Bowman Horton; daughters and sons-in-law, Anita Horton Reed and James Wayne Reed, Rebecca Sue and Roger Lee Horton, all of Hillsville; two sisters, Kate Horton Bryant of Woodlawn and Lilly Horton Finney of Hillsville; one brother, S. Cecil Horton of Hillsville; two granddaughters, Laurer Elizabeth Reed, Catherine Brooke Horton; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Monday, February 17, 2:00 p.m. at the Bluemont Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Robert Childress officiating with interment in the Bluemont Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday evening 7:00 to 9:00 at the Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel, Hillsville.
