JAMES RIVER CAPTURES REGION CHAMPIONSHIP

James River sent five wrestlers to the championship finals and claimed two individual titles Saturday to win the Region C tournament at Grayson County High School.

Tony Bocanegra won the 103-pound class and John Miller won the 130-pound division for the Knights, who beat second-place Parry McCluer by 48 points.

Grayson County finished third, Glenvar fourth and Lexington fifth.

The top four wrestlers in each division advance to the Group A state tournament next weekend at the Salem Civic Center. Staff report
