A man Virginia authorities list as one of the state's most successful child support evaders has been arrested in Florida.
Listed on Virginia's "Top 10" list of deadbeat parents, Larry E. Burchett has not paid child support since 1986, the state said.
Burchett, 43, allegedly owes more than $28,000. He was arrested Thursday in Hillsborough County, Fla.
He waived extradition and will be returned to Bedford to stand trial on charges of contempt of court and criminal non-support, said Bedford County Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney Phillip Baker.
Burchett has two children, a 16-year-old son and a 10-year-old daughter. He was ordered to pay $300 a month in child support in 1983. - Associated Press
