UVA SOCCER TEAM LANDS TOP PROSPECTS

Reigning Division I soccer champion Virginia has received letters-of-intent from Parade All-Americans Brandon Pollard from Richmond and Damian Silvera from Ballston Lake, N.Y.

Pollard, from J.R. Tucker High School, was rated the top defender on the Parade team. Two-time Parade choice Silvera, a midfielder, had 15 goals and 18 assists in helping Shenendehowa High School to a 25-0 record and the No. 1 ranking in the nation.

Pollard has been named to the United States under-20 national team and Silvera is an alternate. - Staff report
