House Speaker Tom Foley and other Washington state congressmen meet with commissioner Fay Vincent at the U.S. Capitol today to discuss the fate of the Seattle Mariners.Foley will tell Vincent of the support for keeping the Mariners in Seattle. Sen. Slade Gorton and Reps. Norm Dicks and John Miller said they want to make clear to Vincent that a $100 million offer from a Japanese-led group is the only one they see for the team.
"He needs to hear there isn't anybody else standing out there willing to put up the money," Dicks said Tuesday.
