GENERALS FALL TO ROYALS 80-74
Scratch Washington and Lee off the list for the Old Dominion Athletic Conference basketball tournament.Vaughn Troyer scored 30 points Wednesday night to lead Eastern Mennonite to an 80-74 victory over W&L that eliminated any chance of the Generals making the playoffs.
The Royals led 32-25 at halftime, and W&L pulled to three points down on several occasions, but that was as close as it got.
Troyer made all 13 of his free throws, including eight in the final three minutes.
Todd Martin add 26 points, including five 3-pointers, for Eastern Mennonite (7-16 overall, 3-14 league).
Paul Baker had a career high of 24 points for W&L (7-17, 3-14).
Bryan Watkins hit three 3-pointers to break W&L's season mark for 3-pointers. He has 63 this season, breaking the record of 60 set by Mike Holton last season. - Staff report
