BLACK CULTURAL CENTER LECTURE
"Race Relations and Black Social Life in Montgomery County" will be discussed Tuesday in a lecture by Michael Cooke, an assistant history professor at Virginia Tech.The lecture will be held in the Black Cultural Center in Squires Student Center at 7 p.m. It draws on Cooke's recent oral-history research among black residents of the county. He will cover such topics as early social clubs, education, mining, railroads, black-owned businesses and integration.
