5 GIRLS TO COMPETE FOR QUEEN OF THE BALL

Charity Community House will sponsor its 11th annual Sweetheart Ball March 7 at 7 p.m. at the Salem Civic Center.

Five girls will compete in the fund-raiser for the organization's summer youth program. Tickets, at $4 each, are on sale at Harry's Barber Shop and will be available at the door.

The contestants are:

Brandy Jernigan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Jernigan, a student at William Ruffner Middle School.

Rashida Powell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Devera Powell, a student at Ruffner.

Nikea Riggins, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Riggins, a student at William Fleming High School.

Caren Scott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Scott, a student at Patrick Henry High School.

Donna Scott, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Scott, a student at Patrick Henry.
