JOHNSON, H. BERNARD

BEDFORD - Howard Bernard Johnson, age 86, of 710 Burks Hill Road, died Wednesday, February 19, 1992 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Bedford County on June 13, 1905, son of the late Samuel Davis Johnson and Emma Gills Johnson. He was a member of Bedford Baptist Church and a retired employee of Hampton Looms of Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Tomlinson Johnson and five nephews and one niece. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel with Dr. Ron R. Blankenship and the Rev. Jack Miller officiating. Entombment will follow in Oakwood Mausoleum. Memorials may be made to the Bedford Life Saving Crew. Friends may call anytime at Carder-Tharp Funeral Home.
