HALE, GARLAND R.SALEM - Garland Robert Hale, age 75, died Thursday, February 20, 1992 at Lewis Gale Hospital. Mr. Hale was born in Montgomery County on November 30, 1916 to the late James Arch and Eva Sites Hale and was preceded in death by his wife, Edith Mae Hale. He was a retired employee of R.A.A.P. and was a veteran of World War II. Surviving are a son, Milton Robert Hale, Daleville; three sisters, Leona Faw, Pearl Hawley, Pauline Alls; four brothers, Howard Hale, Warren Hale, William Hale, all of Blacksburg; Clifford (Pete) Hale, Walnut Cove, N.C.; two stepchildren, Sallie Slusser, Bobby Barker both of Christiansburg; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 22, at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, Blacksburg. The Rev. David Neal will officiate. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends, Friday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
