PARTISANSHIP GETS IN WAY OF GOVERNING
OUR BEAUTIFUL country is called the United States of America. For those politicians in D.C., there is no unity. Democrats and Republicans spend so much time at each other that they don't take time for bills that require immediate attention. This country would be far more beautiful if all the politicians put their parties aside and got on with running this country correctly. Is it possible that these so-called leaders are afraid of losing votes during the next elections? It would be terrible for them to have to work for a living and not be allowed those free vacations.
Back home, we hear very little of these politicians until six months before election; then the wind starts blowing about what they have done, which isn't much in comparison with what they haven't done.
The older I become, the more I believe what I heard as a young man: Show me a poor politician, and I will show you an honest one. JOHN JARA TROUTVILLE
