`HOKIE CELEBRATION' AT TECH

Virginia Tech alumni and fans are invited to the annual "Hokie Celebration" Saturday in the Bowman Stadium Club at Cassell Coliseum.

The event, sponsored by the New River Valley chapter of the Virginia Tech Alumni Association and the Blacksburg Hokie Club, is held in conjunction with Tech's basketball game against Metro Conference rival UNC-Charlotte.

The game starts at 5 p.m. The Hokie Celebration starts at 3 p.m. and will continue at halftime and after the game.

Proceeds will benefit academic and athletic scholarships for Tech students. Last year's event raised more than $2,000 for scholarships.

Tech administrative and athletic officials will be special guests at the celebration.

There also will be representatives from various sports to sign autographs after the game.

Game tickets are available from the Tech Ticket Office. Call 231-6731.

Admission to the Hokie Celebration is $2 for adults; $1 for children age 12 and under. Snacks and refreshments will be available.
