EAGLES SOAR INTO VIC TOURNAMENT
Sam Donnelly scored 21 points to lead Roanoke Valley Christian to a 74-72 overtime victory over Randolph-Macon Academy in a Virginia Independent Conference playoff game on Tuesday.
Aaron Slocumb scored 16 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and Aaron Hassell added 15 points and 12 rebounds for the Eagles (10-12 overall, 7-7 league), who had to win the playoff to gain entry into the VIC tournament.
Anthony Boone scored 24 points and Bernard Adolphus had 21 to lead Randolph-Macon Academy. \
Piedmont
BASSETT - Odell Hodge had 37 points, 26 rebounds and eight blocks to lead top-seeded Laurel Park over Dan River 94-54 in the Piedmont District tournament.
Lonzy Robertson added 21 points for the Lancers (20-2), the top-ranked team in the state.
Dan River (6-17) got 16 points from Sonny Motley and 10 from Brian Gunn.
In another game, Bassett (12-9) held off Tunstall (10-11) in the final 1:30 to win 71-70.
