PATTERSON, JACOB F.Jacob F. (Pat) Patterson, age 78, died Tuesday, February 25, 1992 in Community Hospital. He was a lifetime resident of Roanoke City and a member of Woodlawn United Methodist Church. He retired from the Post Office with 30 years service and worked for the City of Roanoke for three years. He was active with the Red Cross from 1974 to 1990 and the Boy Scouts for over 40 years, serving as Scoutmaster of Troop 7 and many years as Committee Chairman of Troop 50. Surviving are his wife of 61 years, Bernice Ott Patterson; a daughter, Barbara Patterson Bowling of the home; a son, Jacob F. Patterson, III of Phoenix, Ariz.; six granddaughters; ten great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 1992 at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel with Rev. Arthur E. Grant officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Thursday.
