SEEK HOUSING FOR MENTALLY RETARDED
FOR THE PAST three months, I have been writing the director of the Virginia Lottery. I have asked him to advise me where the profit is used. I understood it was for school and highway projects. Now I am told, finally, by members of the House of Delegates, that the profit is used in the general fund for buying anything the governor sees fit. It would be great if the American people stood upright and awakened to the fact that we really don't have any say-so in what our government decides.
I am interested in helping find housing for mentally retarded people who need supervision, or help if the person is living at home with parents. I am told there are no funds. Maybe our representatives should work for the people, not for what some want. MARVIN COON ROANOKE
